Limited Edition Sacred Era designs for early supporters via the StartSomeGood crowdfunding campaign

This week, we are looking at Sacred Era, a streetwear label with a cause we can all get behind. We interviewed founder Michael Weir on the #StartingGood Virtual Summit about his journey, the vision behind Sacred Era, and how we can get our hands on some Sacred Era T-shirts.

What is Sacred Era?

Sacred Era is a streetwear label that creates designs about Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture and history. It is for mob and allies alike, in Australia and around the world, sharing the world’s oldest culture on one of the world’s most popular mediums: t-shirts.

With every purchase, they also give you the story behind the design. That way, when someone comments on your t-shirt — and with these designs, they will! — you can share the story behind the design with them.

In fact, they have designed some limited-edition t-shirts just for us — and you can order one here, too.

Who is Michael Weir?

Michael is a proud Wiradjuri man. In his interview with us, he shares his story from making beats and winning a Deadly Award, to mentoring young Aboriginal kids, to now launching Sacred Era and what it’s been like to launch a crowdfunding campaign for his first collection with us on StartSomeGood.

Influenced by his culture, upbringing and life experiences Michael creates open and honest music and isn’t afraid of speaking his mind. His lyrics represent his passion for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander rights in Australia, his hometown, and all subjects in between utilizing his talents to share his thoughts and emotions on those subjects important to him.

Michael has performed at several key events, has opened for both international and home-grown artists, interpreted both the Indigenous and Colonial exhibitions in the National Art Gallery through spoken word, but is most proud of working with local Indigenous youth running hip hop workshops through his clothing label Sacred Era.

Where can we get some?

Sacred Era is currently crowdfunding, and you can pre-order their clothes here. They also have some limited-edition designs just for their early supporters which you can also via the Sacred Era Crowdfunding Campaign.

You can also watch Michael interview with us on the #StartingGood Live Summit here. If you missed out on early bird access, you can buy lifetime access to all the content form the 11-day Summit featuring 30+ world-renowned leaders, innovators and changemakers here.
