Social Enterprise World Forum 2017 — New Zealand

Hosted between the 27–29 September, the annual international Social Enterprise World Forum invites the best and brightest social enterprises from around the world to come together, share wisdom, build networks and discuss how to create a more socially inclusive future. StartSomeGood are one of the 63 Australian social enterprises that have been announced as a successful recipient of the Social Enterprise World Forum Australian Bursary Fund.

Social Entrepreneurs Summer Networking Event (Birmingham-UK)

This is your chance to connect with key members of the social enterprise community to share ideas and explore opportunities. Social Mobility will be explored and discussed by the key speakers during the event. This event will take place on Monday, 3 July 2017, from 17:00–19:00 BST.

SeCo Young Social Entrepreneurs Conference — Melbourne, Australia

This conference will be bringing together the inspiring minds behind some of Melbourne’s most successful social enterprises with budding young entrepreneurs keen to get involved in the social enterprise sphere. Delve into their journey from idea to execution, the hurdles they encountered and their triumphs they experienced since setting up their social enterprise. This event takes place on Thursday, 10 August 2017, from 5:00pm to 8:30pm AEST.

Social Enterprise World Forum 2017 — New Zealand

Hosted between the 27–29 September, the annual international Social Enterprise World Forum invites the best and brightest social enterprises from around the world to come together. The Australian Bursary Fund application period ran from April 26 to May 26 and received 105 applications from across Australia, with 40% of applicants coming from Victoria. National research — Finding Australia’s Social Enterprise Sector 2016 — found the majority of social enterprise respondents were seeking a more cohesive social enterprise ecosystem with enhanced networking and development opportunities.

Business can be the great engine that lifts billions out of poverty, but it needs to be a new kind of values-driven business. One of the insights are to recruit and empower local change makers. These entrepreneurs are showing that mission-driven business can improve the lives of the world’s bottom billion.
