The article talks about the importance of creating products and services that are aligned with the changing needs and values of consumers. The article highlights three key trends that are likely to shape the way people live and work in the coming years: the rise of conscious consumerism, the need for greater convenience and personalization, and the growing importance of sustainability and environmental responsibility.

It provides some examples of companies that are already embracing these trends and creating innovative solutions, such as Ikea’s focus on sustainability and circularity, and Amazon’s use of data to personalize the customer experience.

Overall, the article tells that by prioritizing the needs and values of consumers, businesses can create products and services that have a positive impact on society and the environment, while also driving growth and innovation.

ESG Activists Met the Moment at ExxonMobil, But Did They Succeed? by Lane Lambert at Harvard Business School Working Knowledge

The article discusses the recent success of ESG activists in influencing Exxon Mobil’s corporate governance and board composition. It describes how activists used a variety of tactics, including shareholder proposals, public pressure campaigns, and legal action, to push for changes at the oil and gas company. In May 2021, the activists won a major victory when three of their candidates were elected to Exxon’s board of directors, giving them a significant voice in the company’s decision-making.

However, the article also explores some of the challenges and limitations of this type of activism, including the difficulty of achieving meaningful change within large, complex organizations, and the risk of backlash from entrenched interests.
